Re: Demo classes on March 29th

Last Saturday some teachers(Adela, Edlira, Anila, Petro, Juleda, Jonida, Aisela) shared some very nice and efficient activities through the demo classes. I really appreciated their hard work and I found everything they demonstrated worthwhile and beneficial for everyone working at Lincoln Center. Not only were these demo classes outstanding but also they presented and emphasized the standard we would like to have at Lincoln.

Consequently, these days I have been using some of the  demonstrated activities.
a. Students really liked the way how I organized the listening section(following Anila’s advice) by previously introducing trues/false sentences taken from the listening part. It really worked because:
1. It helped them focus on particular pieces of information.
2. It faded away their anxiety.
3. It helped them remember and reproduce some language structures.

b. Moreover, the way how I approached the reading passage(following Petro’s advice)made them feel more confident while reading. They were able to go through the text as well as complete the exercises within a set time (5 minutes).Becoming independent learners gave them a feeling of excitement and self-assurance.

I’ll keep including everything that was demonstrated that day.

Thank you again!

I found the demo class really helpful. I also liked the reading part. I have always struggled with reading. Students focus on new words and it seemed that I run up of time whenever I had to do the following exercises. So I put it in practice the very next class. Some students protested at first, but later they felt satisfied because they were able to guess.
I am looking forward for new ways of teaching each part. Practical ideas and what is more, not time consuming, the thing that stresses out every teacher in each class.
