What I do well?

According to some of my colleagues who observed my classes one thing I do well is that I am well-organized. In fact before entering a class I organize the lesson and if it’s not a written plan I should have one in my mind. Usually I introduce the lesson by opening a class discussion related to the topic and I ask students to use their everyday situations while discussing; so if the topic is ” Teenage Blues” I ask my students to tell which are their problems at school, among peers and problems with their parents and so on… the reaction of the students is good, they are eager to discuss when the topic relates to their life problems.
Another thing I feel I do well is that when I explain a new word or even a new grammar structure I create an everyday situation where i can use them in order to make it clear for the students and they can remember it easily. I remember once in an Intro class (for beginners) I explained how to express sympathy when a person is sick and the next class I really got sick, I completely lost my voice and when I went to class to explain them I couldn’t stay in class and a substitute teacher would come instead they all said in a choir voice: “Hope you get better soon, teacher” so they were putting into practice what they learned the time before.
