Five Minute Challenge
Stop what you are doing and take a moment to understand the feeling of time.
- Get your phone out and open a timer app.
- Set your timer for five minutes.
- Find a comfortable place to sit.
- Your task is to sit during the timer with your eyes close and open them when you feel five minutes has elapsed.
- Start the timer and close your eyes with your hands relaxed in your lap.
- Notice how much time remains if you open your eyes before the timer is complete.
How much time remained? Were you able to last until the timer went off? Where did your mind go during that time?
Now you have a better understanding of what five minutes feels like. Giving yourself this perspective is an excellent start to improve managing your time throughout a day composed of 288 blocks of five minutes.
Time management is really life management.
