Student Attention and Care Process- Inspiring Success stories

by | 03.27.2014
I’d like to share some very interesting ideas I heard in a meeting with teachers working at Lincoln Centers. Irma, Moza and Anisa thought the new process (Student Attention and Care process) is helpful and beneficial. Incorporating it properly and softly in the teaching process would help everyone meet students’ demands,  satisfy their needs and persuade them to re-enroll.
Moza had quite a nice experience and her ideas were really inspiring. She clarified since the first class that Lincoln is here to serve and help people grow professionally. One of the most common excuses given by students who intend not to re-enroll is the price. Moza’s answer to it was: “Think for a second. If you find the cost per session you’ll realize that our center is not that expensive (taking in consideration the service and quality of teaching)”. To convince students to re-enroll she gave a very nice visual example  during the counseling sessions. By drawing a swimming pool full of water which has a leak in it, she tried to demonstrate students that if they leave the course, (the leak in the pool) you are going to forget everything that you learned this term (the pool becomes empty because of the leak).
Anisa and Irma emphasized that showing students that we care, that we do assist them to meet their needs and expectations is the key to success. They both have:

1. explained in details what comes next and how the next course will help them progress more.
2. spent a couple of minutes to leaf through the next coursebook
3. made students feel good of what they have accomplished.
